Time for a tasting and what a tasting it is!

Redbreast 12 Year Old is fabulous. It’s as simple as that. It’s a multi award winning whiskey and is widely regarded as one of the best examples of Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey.
Redbreast 12 Year Old generally retails for around €60 but thanks to the good people of Sainsburys I was fortunate enough to pick a bottle up for only €35, well I actually picked up six as it would have been rude not to at that price.
The entire package oozes class. The box, the bottle, the label. It all adds to the wonderful experience that is Redbreast.

So here are my thoughts:
Glass used: Tuath
ABV: 40%
Nose: One of the nicest Irish Whiskies on the nose. So inviting! I get plenty of spice notes with toffee/caramel
Palate: Really fills the mouth and coats it so nicely. You know the minute it hits the tongue that this is a top drawer dram.
Finish: A nice long finish. Really invites you to pour another glass
Overall: I love it. I really do! It’s probably my favourite Irish Whiskey. There is nothing that lets it down in my opinion.
If you’ve never tried Redbreast 12 Year Old then please do, you won’t be disappointed. If you have it on your shelf, pour yourself a glass after reading this and remind yourself of just how wonderful it is!
