Welcome to Part 1 of my new series of blogs called ‘Know your Brand Ambassador’.
I’m delighted to kick off this series with an insight into the mind of Mr Joe Magowan of Dillon Bass.
As outlined here this series is all about having a bit of fun and discovering a different side to some of Irish Whiskeys top Brand Ambassadors.

Name? Joe Magowan
Who do you work for? Dillon Bass. I represent brands from Midleton Distillery. Powers, Redbreast, Jameson, Method and Madness and the Spots.
What is your favourite book? The Harry Potter books. Loved them growing up and have read them again multiple times since
Name your three favourite movies? Aliens, The Thing and The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Have you a favourite movie quote? ‘Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?’ – Wayne’s World – To be honest I could probably pick any quote from Wayne’s World!
What is your favourite holiday destination: Sevilla, Spain. Amazing food, sherry, music and sunshine.
What is the first thing you do when you get home from abroad? Take my shoes off and have a proper cup of tea – or a whiskey!
What is your favourite sandwich? Avocado and bacon on toasted sourdough
If you could travel back in time where would you go? If I had a time machine I’d probably rather go to the future than go back in time
If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be and why? Probably something from the late 90’s Nickelodeon because I grew up on those cartoons.
If you could shop anywhere for free where would it be? The Friend at Hand in Belfast for all the Irish Whiskey. A more logical choice would be Homebase since I spend all my money there anyway…
Who are your favourite current band and favourite band of all time? Probably Russian Circles at the moment. I don’t think I could pick one all-time favourite though. If I had to pick a genre it would be heavy metal, hip hop or electronic music.
What do you think is the greatest invention of all time? The pot still, with photography being a close second.
If you could win a Noble Peace Prize, an Academy Award or an Olympic Medal which one would you choose? Well I am intelligent, athletic and charismatic so I plan on winning all 3 at some point. Watch this space!
Finally, If you could pick three people, dead or alive, to have dinner with, who would they be? Anthony Bourdain, Christopher Lee and Nardwuar
