Name? Michael Cowman

Who do you work for? Irish Distillers Pernod-Ricard

What is your favourite book? As a series probably the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin but as a stand alone book I think 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Name your three favourite movies? The Godfather, Goodfellas and Gladiator or Fight Club – just can’t separate those last two!

Have you a favourite movie quote? I’m ex-navy so we used to think it was hilarious to quote Master and Commander to one another – ‘ In all my years I’ve never seen the like. It has to be more than 100 sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That’s seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My god, that’s seamanship’

What is your favourite holiday destination: I’ve spent a year in South Africa and travelled a fair bit around, it has to rank as one of the most amazing, diverse, stunning countries in the world! The Drakensburg mountains and Lesotho are amazing for hiking!

What is the first thing you do when you get home from abroad? I always try to pay a visit to the Grandmother as soon as I’m back in Ireland if I’ve been away for length of time.

What is your favourite sandwich? Chicken and bacon triple decker from O’Brien’s!

If you could travel back in time where would you go? Back to when bottles of Karuizawa couldn’t be given away in Japan!

If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be and why? I watch a lot of cartoons, I’m the worlds biggest kid so this is tough for me. Lets go with Skeletor from He-Man, he always dished out the best insults!

If you could shop anywhere for free where would it be? Omar Fitzell would probably say it’s wherever they sell the worst/most ostentatious shirts but I’ll take the safe obvious option and go with the Whiskey Exchange on London.

Who are your favourite current band and favourite band of all time? I’m currently listening to a lot of South African and Nigerian music, so there’s a huge variety of types of music and bands there. Fela Kuti is probably one of the best known and one of the only ones for outside the environs of the club! Of all time I think I’d lean towards someone like the Artic Monkeys, Snow Patrol or maybe The Kooks.

What do you think is the greatest invention of all time? Apart from whiskey obviously? That machine that slices bread right in front of you in the shop I’d say.

If you could win a Noble Peace Prize, an Academy Award or an Olympic Medal which one would you choose? I think we’d all like to be noble and say we’d want the Peace Prize but I don’t think I could turn down a gold in the 100m sprint. Unfortunately three anterior cruciate ligament tears probably means that dream has passed me by now!

Finally, If you could pick three people, dead or alive, to have dinner with, who would they be? Michael Collins. Ernest Shackleton and a man who I’ve gained a new understandings of this year, Nelson Mandela. I was thinking of throwing in Hemingway for the craic but he’d just be calling for daquiris all night!

I hope you enjoyed Part Three of my ‘Know your Brand Ambassador’ series and that you all feel you know Michael ‘The Shirt’ Cowman a little better.

Thanks to Michael for agreeing to take part in the series!
